Financial Wellness
Helping individuals understand the connection between money, emotions, relationships, and mental health.
Money is about more than numbers. It intersects with our relationships, health, caregiving responsibilities, work, identity, and life's transitions. Yet many of us were never taught to understand the emotional side of money or how these experiences shape the way we think, feel, and respond to money.
Financial wellness therapy offers a compassionate space to explore your relationship with money without judgment. Together, we'll better understand the experiences, beliefs, values, and life circumstances that have shaped your financial story while working toward greater self-awareness, reduced financial stress, and improved overall well-being.
What Is Financial Wellness?
Financial wellness is the ability to navigate money in ways that support your overall well-being. It isn't defined by a specific income, savings account, or financial milestone. Instead, it reflects how your financial life, emotional health, relationships, and daily functioning work together.
Financial wellness recognizes that financial decisions are rarely based on numbers alone. They are influenced by our experiences, values, relationships, culture, health, caregiving responsibilities, and life transitions. Understanding these connections can help reduce shame, strengthen self-awareness, and create meaningful, lasting change.
My Approach
My approach is grounded in clinical social work and informed by specialized training in Financial Therapy and Financial Social Work.
I believe financial concerns rarely exist in isolation. They are often connected to our relationships, health, caregiving responsibilities, work, identity, past experiences, and life's transitions. Together, we'll explore these connections with curiosity and compassion while developing a deeper understanding of your relationship with money.
Therapy is collaborative and tailored to your unique experiences and goals. Rather than focusing on quick fixes or financial advice, we'll work together to increase self-awareness, reduce financial stress, strengthen coping skills, and build a healthier relationship with money that supports your overall well-being.
How Financial Wellness Therapy Can Help
Financial wellness therapy provides a supportive space to better understand the role money plays in your life and the experiences that have shaped your relationship with it. Together, we'll explore the thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and patterns that may be contributing to financial stress, anxiety, avoidance, conflict, or shame while developing greater self-awareness and a healthier relationship with money.
Financial wellness therapy can also be helpful during periods of change or uncertainty, including career transitions, relationship changes, caregiving responsibilities, healthcare expenses, retirement, or other significant life events where money and emotional well-being intersect.
I am not a financial advisor and do not provide financial advice or recommendations. My role is to help you better understand the emotional and psychological aspects of money so you can make informed financial decisions that align with your values, goals, and overall well-being.
